Many of you think that buying and album or a download feeds the musicians…
Think again! There are only few instances of sales that seem to help Brand X. Brand X are the people who co-wrote and, in some cases performed the music appearing on these albums. Those concerned are: John Goodsall (and next of kin), Percy Jones, and Robin Lumley.
We’ll tell you what sales counters report to Brand X and represent income for these musicians so you can decide if you wish to buy responsibly.
The Charisma/Virgin/Universal collection: 1976 to 1982
Buying vinyl and CDs from record shops helps the ecosystem. Buying from Amazon doesn’t do much for anyone… but buying our records from the classic era of Brand X’s studio production, helps Brand X bring down a long-standing debt. With a recently rekindled relationship with Hit & Run Publishing, Percy and Robin have every reason, presently, to encourage their fans to continue to purchase their studio work.

To be fair, Gonzo Multemedia has been spotless in handing Brand X royalties on their sales. When you purchase from them, you can be sure that ALL the creators of Brand X are paid.

The ’90s: X Communication & Manifest Destiny: 1992 to 1997
Brand X is not receiving any money.
The reunion and tribute band’s live recordings: 2017 to 2019
The Rites of Spring Festival (DVD/Blu Ray), But Wait, There’s More…, Locked and Loaded digital downloads & T-shirts: Percy and John’s family have had no returns since the recordings went to downloads. Brand X is not receiving money: one can only wonder where the money from downloads actually goes.

Neither Percy Jones nor John Goodsall‘s family has authorized the digital downloads of this music. No accounting has been delivered to them.

Status Unknown. Neither Percy Jones nor John Goodsall‘s family has seen accounting on the sales of downloads od the music appearing in these collections.
So alive that it’s gone with the money.
Burning Shed UK reported having sent $30,600. to the “management” in the US. No accounting of that money has been delivered to Percy or to John’s family as of November 2022.
We get NOTHING on T-shirts sold online through our former managers!
As you may have surmised if you read our section about our former management company and their recent attempt to hijack and thieve Brand X through social media, the t-shirts they sell are illegal (they represent an unauthorized use use of a copyrighted 1975 design by Richard Evans) and the money raised from those sales is not accounted for, Percy Jones and John Goodsall’s next of kin are being entirely ignored. Claims by these managers that the money is being used charitably are not backed by any proof. Buyer beware!
